Jeffrey Dawkins has dedicated almost 20 years of service to the
Detroit Medical Center (DMC).
After joining the DMC in 1985, Dawkins worked for Harper-Grace
Hospitals until 1990, holding numerous administrative leadership positions. In
1990 Dawkins became the senior vice president of Grace Hospital. Shortly
thereafter, he was promoted to executive vice president, then regional
administrator of the Northwest Region for both Grace and Sinai Hospitals.
In 1999, Dawkins took the position of vice president of
Operations for Harper University Hospital and Hutzel Women's Hospital. During
his tenure as VP, Dawkins lead a debt reduction project, which produced annual
savings of 2.5 million dollars, through improvements in the admission and
registration processes.
Prior to joining the Detroit Medical Center, Dawkins was
employed by Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Eureka
College in Eureka, Illinois and a Master of Science degree in Health Care
Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dawkins is a Diplomat of the American College of Healthcare
Executives and a Life Member of Leadership Detroit.
